Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Yard Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our indoor work environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing team activities of an evening, ensuring safety standards are maintained, and coordinating the loading of vehicles. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in scaffolding to utilise their skills in a supervisory capacity, contributing to the successful completion of projects while maintaining a safe and organised yard.

You will be in charge of making sure all lorries (10) are loaded correctly & (3) Vans. This could be topping up or emptying daily.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the yard team, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to load lists.
• Oversee the safe loading of our lorries ensuring the loads are neat and correct each day
• Manage the organisation, tools, and equipment within the yard to go on correct lorries (Drills, Cutters)
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
• Conduct regular evening tool box talks with the staff to ensure they are proactive and everyone knows their role for the evenings.
• Liaise with contracts managers and yard managers to ensure load lists are met correctly

Skills

• Proven experience in scaffolding – Ex Scaff ideally.
• Strong knowledge on all scaffolding materials
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
• Leadership qualities with experience supervising a team in an outdoor or construction environment
• Good communication skills to coordinate with team members
• Physical fitness to handle manual tasks and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Problem-solving skills to address on-site challenges efficiently

Hours are from 3pm until all lorries are completed – these hours can very, you could leave early one evening or not finish until 11pm the next. it depends on how well the guys do and how well they are managed. – You will be paid a full shift if you leave early (all vehicles completed still)
