Oracle Support Accountant

Hours: 37 Hours Per Week
Contract: 4+ Month Temporary Contract
Location: 25 West St, Chichester, PO19 1RQ
Rate: PAYE £33.41 per hour
Work Pattern: Monday – Friday (09:00 to 17:00)

We’re recruiting an Oracle Support Accountant to support the organisation’s Oracle finance systems and financial accounting processes. This is a key role, ideal for someone with strong Oracle finance system experience and solid accounting knowledge, looking to contribute within a busy finance environment.

About the Role:

As an Oracle Support Accountant, you’ll be responsible for supporting Oracle financial systems and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. You’ll assist with core accounting processes, including ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and financial reporting, while supporting users with system queries and issue resolution. You will play a vital role in ensuring high-quality financial information and smooth operational processes across the finance function.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Supporting Oracle finance systems within the organisation
• Assisting with financial accounting processes, including ledger maintenance
• Carrying out reconciliations and resolving discrepancies in financial data
• Supporting users with Oracle system queries and issue resolution
• Contributing to accurate and timely financial reporting
• Working closely with finance teams and stakeholders to ensure smooth financial processes
• Maintaining data integrity and ensuring compliance with financial procedures and controls
• Providing support for financial data analysis and reporting requirements
• Following financial policies and procedures at all times
• Carrying out routine financial system and administrative tasks with minimal supervision

What We’re Looking For:

We’re seeking someone organised, analytical, and detail-oriented with strong finance system knowledge.

Requirements:

• Proven experience working with Oracle financial systems (e.g. Oracle ERP)
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
• Experience in finance or accounting support roles
• Strong Excel skills and confidence handling financial data
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong understanding of financial controls, data protection, and confidentiality
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines

Nice-to-Have Requirements:

• Experience within a local authority or public sector finance environment
• Familiarity with Oracle Cloud or Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS)
• AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA
• Experience supporting system users in a helpdesk or finance support capacity
