The role of Assistant Accountant:

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
• Reconcile bank statements and manage accounts payable and receivable functions
• Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
• Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports
• Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes
• Respond to internal and external financial queries promptly

The ideal Assistant Accountant:

• A solid foundation in accounting principles and practices
• Previous experience in a similar accounting role, ideally within the retail industry
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• A qualification in Accounting or Finance, or progress towards one
• Ability to work effectively within a team and meet deadlines
