Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Construction Assistant to support our building projects. The ideal candidate will assist skilled tradespeople in various construction tasks, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to safety standards. This role offers valuable hands-on experience across multiple trades within the construction industry, suitable for individuals eager to develop their skills and contribute to diverse projects.
Duties
- Assist with carpentry, roofing, and masonry tasks under supervision
- Support plumbing, electrical, and welding activities as required
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
- Aid in fabrication work, including cutting, shaping, and assembling materials
- Prepare work sites by cleaning and organising materials and equipment
- Follow safety protocols at all times to maintain a secure working environment
- Help with the installation of construction painting and finishing touches
- Support team members in lifting, moving, and positioning materials or equipment
- Assist with site clean-up and organisation at the end of each shift
Skills
- Basic knowledge of carpentry, roofing, or masonry is advantageous
- Experience with plumbing or electrical work is a plus but not essential
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work well within a team
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills across different trades
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks and work on-site for extended periods
- Good communication skills and a proactive attitude
