Screen Education Edinburgh (SEE) has been changing lives through filmmaking for 45 years.

As Scotland’s oldest filmmaking org, SEE works across three core strands: Education, Community, and Talent, delivering programmes that build confidence, develop skills, and open doors for young people, adult learners, and communities who might otherwise never access the artform.

In 2025 alone, 91% of learners reported increased film knowledge, 89% increased technical skills, and 92% reported a growth in confidence. Our learners win BAFTAs. Trainspotting author and SEE patron Irvine Welsh champions our work. From 2025 to 2028, Creative Scotland is investing £740k in our vision via multiyear funding.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Communications Officer to play an key role in delivering on our ambitions, defining the voice of a beloved and important institution, building new audiences amongst underrepresented people, and growing and strengthening our communications through compelling storytelling across socials, web, newsletter, and video archive, including YouTube.

The successful candidate will have a strong record of planning and executing communications content across the various forms, using their expertise, learnings and insights, and data and analytics to meet audience development and growth goals.
