About the Role

Nevin House is looking to recruit reliable, caring, and motivated Male Support Workers to support adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, and behaviours that may challenge within our residential care service.

The role includes supporting individuals within their home environment with daily living tasks, activities, behaviour support, personal care, and community access while promoting independence, dignity, safety, and person-centred care.

This role requires patience, professionalism, resilience, and flexibility to meet the needs of the service.

Main Responsibilities

• Support service users with daily living tasks and routines
• Support individuals with personal care where required
• Promote independence, dignity, and person-centred support
• Follow care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support plans
• Support individuals to safely access the community
• Maintain accurate daily records and documentation
• Support positive behaviour and de-escalation where required
• Work as part of a team to maintain safe staffing and support standards
• Support service users during activities, appointments, and daily routines
• Maintain safeguarding and professional boundaries at all times

Requirements

• Experience working within care/support work is desirable but not essential
• Reliable, professional, and punctual
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Caring and patient approach to supporting vulnerable adults
• Must be flexible and able to work shifts including evenings, weekends, sleep-ins, and bank holidays where required
• Willingness to complete mandatory training and ongoing development

• Shift patterns may include long days, evenings, weekends, sleep-ins, and bank holidays depending on operational needs
• Overtime opportunities may be available based on service needs

Legal Requirement

Due to the nature of the role and the needs of the individuals supported, this post is restricted to male applicants only under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010 as a Genuine Occupational Requirement.

Pay: £12.80-£12.90 per hour
