Have you just left college with a catering or cooking qualification? Are you looking for an entry-level role? We are seeking a motivated Trainee Kitchen Assistant to join our team. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional kitchen environment. The successful candidate will assist with food preparation, food safety, and general kitchen duties, supporting our team. Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and food assembly under supervision
- Support the kitchen team in setting up and packing down of the cafe
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations and utensils
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Help with basic cooking tasks as directed by senior kitchen staff
- Assist in serving food to customers when required
- Ensure all equipment is used safely and correctly, reporting any issues promptly
- Support stock rotation and inventory checks as needed
Requirements
- A keen interest in catering, cooking, or the hospitality industry
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and safety standards
- Willingness to learn new skills and work as part of a team
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and work efficiently under supervision
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including Saturdays
