About Us

Imberhorne is a truly comprehensive school, providing an extensive academic curriculum from Years 7 to 13, alongside an enviable range of extra-curricular activities designed to appeal to the widest interests.

Students in Years 7 to 9 are educated on the site of the former East Grinstead Grammar School on Windmill Lane, which provides a nurturing environment for their first three years with us.

Years 10 and 11 and our large Sixth Form are based at our Imberhorne Lane site, which has all the specialist facilities and teaching spaces needed for the wide range of examination courses we offer.

The majority of staff teach across both sites. We currently have 1630 students on roll, including 270 in our Sixth Form. We are keen for our students to develop into well-rounded young people, with the academic knowledge, character and interpersonal skills they need to take their place as active citizens in society.

Schools Mental Health Support and Wellbeing Coordinator

18 hours per week, term time only + 2 weeks

Pro-Rata Salary NJC 8: SCP 20-24 £13,967 – £15,173

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate School Mental Health Support and Wellbeing Coordinator to join our school support team. This is a key role supporting the leadership of our whole-school mental health and wellbeing strategy, ensuring we are responsive to contextual challenges and the evolving needs of our school community.

You will play a vital role in improving emotional wellbeing, engagement, and outcomes for students through strategic oversight, targeted interventions, staff development, and partnership working.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience supporting children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing
• Can build strong relationships with staff, students, and external agencies
• Is confident delivering training, interventions, and pastoral support
• Has a proactive, calm and solution-focused approach
• Is committed to improving outcomes for young people

What You Need to Succeed

To be successful in this role you will need to:

• Be a Qualified Counsellor (registered with BACP/UKCP) OR currently working towards a recognized Level 4/5 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.

• Have experience working with and leading interventions for children/adolescents in a therapeutic or educational setting.
• Have a deep understanding of Contextual Safeguarding and how community issues impact student mental health.

• Exceptional empathy and resilience; ability to maintain professional boundaries in a high-pressure environment.
