The Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our team. You will be working with small groups of up to 5 students, providing supervision, prompting, and structured guidance. Our SEN students are verbal and academically capable in reading, writing, and speaking—they simply need the right support to stay on task, follow instructions, and build independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support small groups of SEN students (primary and secondary) in accessing lessons and activities
- Use positive prompting and encouragement to help students focus, organise their work, and follow verbal instructions
- Implement individual learning plans and adapt your approach to meet the needs of different learners
- Foster a calm, patient, and structured environment that promotes confidence and independence
- Support social interaction and peer engagement during group activities and breaks
- Communicate regularly with teachers, parents, and the wider Brainology team on student progress
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is essential
- Understanding of a range of SEN profiles, including ADHD, autism, and social communication needs
- A patient, resilient, and positive approach to supporting learners
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt support strategies within a small group setting
- A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 3) is desirable but not essential if supported by strong experience
Pay: £15.00 per hour
