The education co-ordinator will deliver a high quality educational programme to a diverse patient population, within a low secure service , with the support and under the supervision of Occupational Therapists.
The education co-ordinator will be expected to to complete initial assessments and devise individual learning plans, in collaboration with other members of the multi- disciplinary team ((MDT) under clinical and managerial supervision.
We are looking for a an education co-ordinator to provide classes in Maths, English, and ICT and functional skills.
You will liaise with staff within therapy services and the ward to determine effective methods of delivery for small groups of patients and individuals.
You will need to be flexible, organised and demonstrate effective communication skills.

To teach basic and higher level skills (Level 2) in numeracy, literacy and ICT.
To teach functional skills in maths and English.
To provide educational support to patients undertaking vocational qualification’s, distance learning and Open University courses.
To prepare students for examinations in the core subjects as outlined above.
To teach English Language learners
To teach patients with additional learning needs.
To devise individual learning plans for patient’s.
To conduct assessments – initial, diagnostic, formative and summative.
To prepare Individual Learning plans, lesson plans and schemes of work as required.

To engage students in education in a forensic setting
To identify learning needs for students and apply effective teaching strategies for their individual needs.
To produce reports on patient’s progress within education.
To provide statistics as required by the Occupational Therapy Operational Manager.
Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
