Hello. My name is Matthew, I am 39 years old and I have a condition called Spinal Muscular Atrophy. This means that I have extremely weak muscles and need all physical tasks carried out for me, but I am fully verbal and able to make my own decisions – it’s the actual “doing” I need help with. I live with my parents in the Romford area and am trying to find more female PA’s to join my existing team of four. It would be ideal if I can find candidates who are fit, have an outgoing personality and are open minded and able to debate any topic. I like my PAs to be reasonably close to my age rather than that of my parents. If a candidate fits into these criteria and be able to fit in with my family environment then this is a great start.
I can offer an hourly rate starting at £17 on a PAYE basis, my Accountants deal with all of the wages and taxes so you would not have to do anything relating to this.
I am looking for someone who is a non-smoker (or at least can go an entire shift without etc), ideally a driver, who is reliable and able to easily work with others. I am currently advertising for someone who would have the regular hours of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 5pm to 11pm but who is also flexible and would be able to work any of the shifts I require (day shift 9am – 5pm, evening shift 5pm – 11pm and the night shift 11pm – 9am). I cannot stress enough the need to be flexible and available for other shifts in this role to cover for sickness and holiday. Previous experience in care is not essential as full training will be given but all candidates must be happy to carry out all personal and medical tasks. Candidates must have the ability to learn tasks, be able to focus while being trained and having a relaxed and open attitude is beneficial for everyone. We are all easy to get on with and I try to treat everyone with respect and courtesy. Candidates must not get easily distracted.
Successful candidates will not be expected to carry out all my care needs on their first day as full training will be provided by my parents and existing PAs. Progress must be demonstrated in carrying out a task before more tasks are added, until you are fully proficient in all aspects of my care. A more detailed list of my care needs will be provided once discussions between ourselves begin.
This is a happy relaxed working environment and communication is key to maintain a good working relationship between us all. This role is more about finding the right person rather than trying to fill the position as quickly as possible.
If you would like further information or feel this could be a good fit for you, please do not hesitate to apply so that we can discuss further.
