Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Counter Assistant to join our pharmacy team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting patient care by providing excellent customer service and assisting with pharmacy operations. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills within a healthcare environment and contribute positively to patient wellbeing. Prior experience as a pharmacy technician or in medication administration is advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right candidate. Duties

• Greet customers courteously and assist them with their pharmacy needs at the counter
• Dispense medications accurately under supervision, ensuring correct dosage and instructions are provided
• Support with medication administration tasks as required, following all safety protocols
• Maintain organised records of prescriptions and patient interactions in compliance with data protection regulations
• Assist in managing stock levels, including ordering and stock rotation to prevent expiry
• Provide advice on over-the-counter products and health-related queries within scope of practice
• Ensure the pharmacy environment remains clean, safe, and welcoming for patients and staff
• Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient care

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in medication administration is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, capable of providing clear information to patients and team members
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• A caring attitude with a focus on patient care and confidentiality
• Basic IT skills for managing electronic records and prescriptions
