Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and caring Nursery Assistant to support the daily operations of our early childhood education centre. The successful candidate will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young children. Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in line with early childhood education standards.
• Assist in supervising children during playtime, meals, nap times, and organised activities to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
• Maintain a clean and organised nursery environment, including sanitising toys and equipment regularly.
• Support management in implementing nursery policies and procedures effectively.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster a positive atmosphere.
• Help with administrative tasks such as record keeping and updating children’s progress reports.
• Assist in managing behavioural issues with patience and professionalism, promoting positive behaviour strategies.
• Contribute to team meetings and training sessions to enhance childcare practices.
• Support the organisation of outings or trips when required, including driving responsibilities if qualified.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a nursery or childcare setting is advantageous.
• Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages.
• Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children and understand their individual needs.
• Management or leadership experience is advantageous for supporting team coordination.
• Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or equivalent are preferred.
• Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or supplies when necessary.
• A caring attitude, patience, organisational skills, and the ability to work as part of a team are essential qualities for this role. Pay: £12.71-£13.00 per hour
