Health Care Assistant (HCA) job at Preston Full Time NEW

We are looking for a experienced HCA who has previously worked in a GP surgery to join our friendly team working 4 days per week Mon, Tue, Wed and Fri 8-30-5pm

To assist with the delivery and provision of high quality primary Healthcare service for patients within the practice including clinical and administrative tasks in which they have been trained and/or shown to be competent. The HCA will work collaboratively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team in order to promote a high standard of health and well-being amongst the patient population and to facilitate access to appropriate medical personnel when required.

Main duties of the job

To assist the GPs and nurses in providing a high standard of care for the practice population within the practice policies, procedures and guidelines. To assist the GP’s, nurses and practice staff to meet the nationally agreed targets for health as agreed in the new GMS contract. To carry out clinical and administrative duties under the supervision of a senior member of staff.

Clinical Tasks

Phlebotomy, Electrocardiographs (ECG’s), Blood pressure monitoring, Carers reviews, NHS Health Checks, Urinalysis Health education including promoting the health benefits of a healthy diet, smoking cessation, weight management, Health screening of patients with pre Diabetes and diabetic foot checks, Ordering of clinical stock

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £12.91-£13.50 per hour
