Duties

• Excavate trenches using appropriate machinery such as excavators, ensuring accurate depth and alignment according to project specifications.
• Lay underground cables with precision, following technical drawings and safety standards.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment required for cable installation and trench preparation.
• Assist with welding tasks when necessary to secure cable conduits or related infrastructure.
• Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic repairs.
• Conduct safety checks on site, ensuring all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Assist with the installation of electrical components, maintaining high standards of quality and safety throughout the process.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to deadlines.

Experience

• Prior experience operating excavators or other heavy machinery is highly desirable
• Familiarity with mechanical systems and electrical installations will be considered a strong asset.
• Previous experience in cable laying or underground utility work is esdentist; training will be provided for suitable candidates eager to learn.
