Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Gateman/Woman to oversee entry and exit point of our Builders Merchant location in Benfleet. The ideal candidate will ensure safety, and smooth access control, maintaining a welcoming yet vigilant presence.

This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where excellent communication and organisational skills are essential. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Manage the access of the premises for customers and their vehicles, supplier deliveries and visitors.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, visitors, and staff to facilitate smooth operations.
• Assist with directing traffic flow within the premises, ensure Health and Safety Standards are maintained at all times.
• Help where required with maintaining a clean and tidy site, picking up loose bands and assist other staff in maintaining a safe working area.

Experience

• Previous experience in construction sites, security roles, or similar environments is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong communication skills in English are required for effective interaction with diverse personnel.
• Familiarity with a Builders Merchant working environment is beneficial.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations professionally is a must. This role is ideal for organised individuals who take pride in maintaining a strong Health and Safety environments while providing excellent customer service. All applicants must be willing to work flexible hours as required.

Pay: From £20,000.00 per year
