Role Overview

As a Front of House team member, you are the face of the pub. Your role is to create a welcoming, friendly, and efficient experience for all customers by delivering excellent service, maintaining high standards, and supporting smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

• Greet customers warmly and create a positive first impression
• Take food and drink orders accurately and efficiently
• Serve drinks (including alcoholic beverages) responsibly and in line with licensing laws
• Handle customer queries and resolve issues politely and professionally

Bar & Service Duties

• Prepare and serve drinks to specification
• Operate tills and handle cash/card payments accurately
• Maintain cleanliness of bar, tables, and customer areas
• Restock fridges, bar supplies, and glassware

Food Service

• Serve food promptly and present dishes correctly
• Clear tables and reset for new customers
• Communicate clearly with the kitchen team

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Follow health and safety, hygiene, and licensing regulations
• Check customer ID when required (Challenge 25, where applicable)
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times

Teamwork & Operations

• Work collaboratively with colleagues during busy periods
• Support opening and closing duties as required
• Assist with events, promotions, and peak service times

Skills & Experience

Essential

• Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused attitude
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility with working hours

Desirable

• Previous pub, bar, or hospitality experience
• Knowledge of drinks, food service, or tills
• Bar training or licensing awareness
