An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a brand-new cyber security start-up at a pivotal stage of its growth journey. Backed by ambitious plans and preparing for its first round of external investment, the business is looking for an experienced CTO to help shape the technical vision, build the product offering, and lead the evolution of the engineering function from the ground up.

The Opportunity:

The company is building an AI-driven platform focused on safety, security and compliance.

The vision is to create a scalable framework that enables businesses to develop solutions with security, governance and compliance embedded at the core from day one.

With an initial product already in development, the business is now looking for a technically strong and commercially aware CTO who can take ownership of the platform strategy, guide future product development and help position the company for successful investment and rapid growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and lead the overall technology strategy and product architecture
• Help shape and evolve the core platform offering from both a technical and commercial perspective
• Lead the development of a secure, scalable and compliance-focused infrastructure
• Build and mentor the engineering function as the business grows
• Drive best practice across cyber security, governance, compliance and secure software development
• Work closely with founders and stakeholders to support investor readiness and future funding activity
• Evaluate technology choices, tooling and architectural decisions to ensure long-term scalability
• Help establish development processes, technical standards and delivery roadmaps
• Act as a senior technical voice within the business, contributing to strategic growth decisions
• Support the company’s positioning within emerging AI security and governance markets

About You:

This role would suit a senior technology leader who thrives in fast-moving, early-stage environments and enjoys building products, teams and strategy from the ground up.

• A strong background within Cyber Security, Information Security or Compliance-led technology environments
• Experience operating at senior engineering leadership or CTO level
• Strong understanding of secure architecture, governance frameworks and compliance standards
• Experience building scalable cloud-based platforms and infrastructure
• Knowledge of AI, agentic systems, security tooling or governance frameworks would be highly advantageous
• A hands-on approach with the ability to work strategically and operationally where required
• Experience within start-ups, scale-ups or high-growth businesses
• Exposure to investment rounds, fundraising activity or investor-facing environments would be highly beneficial
• Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
