Bookkeeper/Administrator job at Clevedon Full Time

We are looking for a Bookkeeper/Administrator to support the finance function across our group of growing businesses:

• Low Rate Car Finance – a leading provider of vehicle finance solutions
• Somerset Motor Company – a reputable used car dealership
• SMC Commercials – a growing commercial vehicle dealership
• VanBrokerUK – a national van leasing company

This role reflects our rapid business growth and offers the opportunity to become an integral part of a dynamic and ambitious team. You will work closely with the Finance Director and Operations Director, providing day-to-day support in managing financial processes and helping to ensure the smooth running of our finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily bank reconciliations and monthly reconciliation of supplier and customer accounts
• Process purchase invoices and prepare daily payment runs
• Manage and process employee expenses in line with company policy
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounts and payments
• Maintain financial records and assist in month-end closing activities
• Manage direct debits, standing orders, and general bookkeeping tasks
• Assist with preparing VAT returns and supporting financial compliance
• Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and management reports
• Provide administrative support and assist with ad-hoc projects as required by the Directors

Experience & Skills

Required:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an Bookkeeping/Accounts Assistant or finance support role
• Experience in invoice processing, reconciliation, and ledger management
• Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks preferred)

Desirable:

• AAT qualification or actively working towards a recognised accountancy qualification
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, or management accounts

Pay: £25,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
