Bookkeeper/Accountant job at Crawley Full Time

You must live within one hour’s drive of Crawley.
You must have at least 3 years’ bookkeeping or finance experience.

Redcoat Express is a well-established and growing freight forwarding company based in Manor Royal, Crawley. We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper / Finance Officer to join our team and support the day-to-day management of our financial records, transactions, and reporting.

The ideal candidate will be confident using Xero, have strong bookkeeping experience, and ideally have some background in freight, logistics, transport, or a similar industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records using Xero
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Reconcile bank accounts and ensure financial data is accurate
• Prepare financial reports for management review
• Assist with payroll processing and tax preparation where required
• Monitor cash flow and support budget management
• Support the implementation of Xero and migration of financial data
• Understand and manage the chart of accounts correctly
• Ensure deadlines are met and financial records are kept up to date

Experience and Skills Required

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Bookkeeper, Finance Officer, or similar role
• Strong working knowledge of Xero is essential
• Good understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes
• Experience with chart of accounts and financial reporting
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Logistics or freight forwarding experience would be advantageous
