Salary: NJC Grade D: £26,824 – £28,598 FTE (This will be paid pro-rata to reflect hours and weeks worked)
Working Pattern: This is a permanent position working 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Monday to Friday)

About the Role
The postholder will work under guidance to provide support in addressing the needs of pupils and families who need particular help to overcome barriers to attendance.
Main Responsibilities:
Tracking and supporting good attendance
Working with key families to provide Attendance system guidance
Targeting the improvement of severely absent students
Establishing constructive relationships with parents/carers, exchanging information, facilitating their support for their child’s attendance, access and learning and supporting home to school and community links
Providing pastoral support
Carrying out home safe and well visits
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who brings confidence, reliability, patience and strong communication skills, and who is committed to supporting young people in a busy secondary environment.
Essential
Proven experience of working with children of relevant age
Strong literacy and numeracy skills (Level 2 equivalent)
Full working knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
Awareness of safeguarding responsibilities
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Ability to build positive relationships with both students and adults
Desirable
Experience of working with the national curriculum and child centred intervention programmes
Understanding of child development and barriers to learning
Confidence to chair meetings and hold challenging conversations
