Bexley is a high performing Council with well-regarded Children’s Services. We are striving to improve educational and wellbeing outcomes for children and young people with special educational needs and disability across the Borough. We have a well-established and innovative Early Intervention Team, that includes SEN Strategic Support Partners, Educational Psychologists, SEMH Partners and Early Intervention Team Social Workers. There are strong links with the School Improvement and Partnership and Statutory Assessment teams, as well as with Children’s Social Care teams. The Early Intervention Team work very closely with schools at the SEN Support stage (SEND Code of Practice) but also undertake relevant work outside of school settings.
We have a full-time position, for 5 days a week, available for an Assistant Psychologist
The main purpose of the job is:-
We are looking for a highly motivated individual able to use their initiative to work independently; to manage effectively a varied and changing caseload and make decisions about effective service delivery. The candidate must have a degree in Psychology and an awareness of the importance of language, social and emotional development and the impact of difficulties in these developmental areas on a child’s educational progress.
