Assistant Art Teacher – art-K Ewell

We’re looking for a passionate and friendly Art Teacher to join our team at art-K in Ewell!

You will support our Art Teachers with the running of sessions and the upkeep of the studio, ensuring our students have the best possible experience when attending classes.

Following training, you will also have the exciting opportunity to lead your own adult art classes alongside supporting teachers in our children’s classes.

About art-K Ewell

art-K Ewell is an art club for children aged 6–18, based in Stoneleigh, Epsom & Ewell. Using a wide range of mediums and techniques, the club teaches students a diverse range of artistic styles, alongside exciting 2D and 3D projects.

With over 50 branches nationwide and more than 5,000 students, art-K has a tried-and-tested programme proven to develop children’s core artistic skills and techniques. At art-K, we care deeply about sharing our love of art with our students, and our goal is to ensure every child has access to an art-K club in their local area.

Information

Weekly Hours:

• 12–15 hours per week

Schedule:

• Monday: 13:30–21:30
• Thursday: 14:00–18:30
• Additional hours negotiable

Pay:

• £14–£16 per hour

Job Type:

• Part-time

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Feel confident teaching a range of mediums to both adults and children
• Have experience working with children
• Create a safe, happy and nurturing environment for students to thrive in
• Support the learning environment by actively engaging with students and parents to discuss progress
• Be able to provide ad-hoc cover when the Branch Manager is ill or on holiday, including preparing and leading classes

Ideally, You Will Also Have:

• Experience teaching or leading workshops in a similar environment
• An art degree or equivalent practical experience
• Experience with content creation and social media
• A positive and proactive attitude
• A strong record of long-term commitment in previous roles
• The ability to commute within 30 minutes of the branch

Responsibilities

• Work in a fun club environment with high teacher-student ratios and enthusiastic young artists
• Join a strong team of like-minded artists and teachers passionate about art education
• Receive face-to-face training on all art projects
• Gain experience delivering skill-based art programmes, teaching, and child development
• Learn how to individualise programmes to suit students’ needs and abilities, supporting their long-term development
• Support class and material preparation
• Discuss class aims and lesson plans with your manager
• Create artwork prototypes
• Maintain the overall upkeep and presentation of the studio
• Design and maintain window displays
• Create content for social media
