Role Summary
Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We’re looking for a Personal Assistant (Associate) for our Global Financial Institutions Group Department (GFIG) to join our team!
GFIG is part of the CIB vertical and plays a crucial role in the wider strategy for EMEA.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Providing Personal Assistant (PA) support for the General Manager of the Global Financial Institutions Group Department (GFIG), alongside other PAs.
- Offering PA support to the co-General Managers of the Global Transaction Banking Department (GTBD).
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive approach and the ability to multitask.
- The ability to quickly learn and understand internal operational processes within the bank.
Business Area
The Global FIG Department is a client coverage team that offers comprehensive banking solutions to our clients by leveraging the strength of SMBC Group, our products and services, and our global platform. GFIG team takes a holistic approach to Financial Institutions coverage, one that is multi-dimensional and multi-product.
Position Description
About this role:
- The role interfaces within the respective departments (GFIG, GTBD, and the wider CIB vertical), as well as all other areas of the Bank.
- The role is expected to support multiple administrative tasks across various assignments.
Our role will allow you to:
- Manage relationships with secretarial and general affairs as instructed by the Reporting Line.
- Support the GFIG GM and GTBD co-GMs with booking and appointment of customer calls, preparation of call reports, conference arrangements, business trips, and reimbursement of expenses.
- Administer Gift & Entertainment requests in line with policy.
- Arrange business travel and accommodation to meet specific requirements, within budget, and using preferred suppliers where appropriate.
- Interact and build relationships with departments or affiliates of SMBC BI, SMBC EU, and SMBC.
- Cover for other PAs during absences.
- Handle any ad-hoc projects or queries as requested by the respective management.
What will you bring to the role?
- Significant work experience previously as a PA for senior management and/or departmental PA.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines with attention to detail.
- Proactive approach and ability to multitask.
