Rata Veterinary Surgery is a professional and personable referral practice consisting of 15 peripatetic veterinary surgeons, registered nurses, and a dedicated home-based client care administration team. Our surgeons are based across the country, from Birmingham to Cornwall and across the Southeast of England.

Our clinical team includes advanced orthopaedic surgeons, soft tissue specialists, an ophthalmology surgeon, and an Advanced Practitioner in ultrasonography. We are seeking an organised, reliable, and customer-focused Part-Time Administrator to join our friendly home-based client care team. This is a varied and rewarding role supporting the management of veterinary referral cases and coordinating bookings between referring practices and our referral surgeons.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring excellent communication and efficient case management within a busy and reactive environment.

Full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing new case referrals using our bespoke management system
• Liaising with client veterinary practices and referral surgeons to coordinate bookings
• Providing a high standard of customer service and professional communication
• Handling urgent and emergency referral enquiries during on-call periods
• Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to privacy policies and industry regulations
• Supporting the wider administrative and clinical team as required

Essential Requirements

• Previous administrative and/or customer service experience
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Strong computer literacy and confidence using online systems
• Ability to work calmly under pressure in a fast-paced, reactive environment
• A reliable home internet connection
• Veterinary industry experience is desirable but not essential

Working Hours

This is a part-time position consisting of:

• Two seven-hour weekdays (including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break)
• Alternate weekend emergency on-call cover:
• Typically, four hours on Saturdays
• Three hours on Sundays

Please note while weekend working hours are scheduled as above, you will remain on call throughout the weekend and will be expected to respond to urgent cases where

Pay: From £13.65 per hour
