About the Role

HJ Talent is currently recruiting for compassionate and dedicated Children’s Residential Support Workers to join a residential home in Stoke-on-Trent

You will be supporting children and young people in a safe, structured and nurturing environment, helping them overcome challenges and achieve positive outcomes. This is a highly rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference in young people’s lives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality day-to-day care and emotional support
• Create and maintain a safe, stable and supportive home environment
• Support young people with education, appointments and activities
• Build positive, trusting and professional relationships
• Encourage independence, life skills and personal development
• Maintain accurate records in line with safeguarding policies
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals

What We’re Looking For

• A genuine passion for working with children and young people
• Previous experience in residential care, youth work or social care
• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins
• A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities

Essential Requirements

• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
• Full UK driving licence (desirable but not essential)
