Kitchen Porter (KP) job at London Full Time

About the Role

As a Kitchen Porter at Labs House you are the unsung hero of our kitchen. Without you the chefs cannot perform at their best. You will keep every corner of the kitchen spotless, ensure equipment is ready to go, and support the team with speed and reliability throughout every service.

Key Responsibilities

– Wash and sanitise all pots, pans, utensils, crockery and glassware promptly and to a high standard

– Operate the pot wash area efficiently, keeping pace with the demands of service

– Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, walls, grills, ovens and sinks

– Sweep and mop kitchen and back-of-house floors throughout and after service

– Receive, unpack and store deliveries correctly in fridges, freezers and dry stores

– Empty bins regularly and manage waste disposal in line with hygiene regulations

– Clean and maintain cooking equipment including fryers, mixers and extractors

– Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks when required

– Ensure the kitchen is left clean, organised and ready for the next service

– Follow all food hygiene, health and safety guidelines at all times

What We Are Looking For

– A hard-working, reliable team player with a positive attitude

– Ability to work at pace in a busy, fast-paced kitchen environment

– Good attention to detail and pride in cleanliness standards

– Basic understanding of food hygiene (training can be provided)

– Previous kitchen experience is a bonus but not essential

– Punctual, flexible and willing to take on varied shifts
