The Assistant Educational Psychologist will provide professional proofreading and quality assurance support for psychological and educational reports. The role involves reviewing documentation to ensure clarity, coherence, accuracy, consistency, and professional presentation in line with educational psychology practice standards, ethical principles, and organisational expectations. Key Responsibilities: * Proofread educational psychology reports, consultation summaries, EHCP advice, assessment reports, and related professional documentation. * Review grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and sentence structure to ensure reports are professionally written and accessible. * Ensure consistency in terminology, formatting, tone, and professional language throughout documents. * Check reports for clarity, logical flow, and coherence while preserving the original clinical meaning and professional interpretation. * Identify ambiguous, repetitive, or unclear sections and suggest revisions to improve readability and precision. * Verify that recommendations, observations, and conclusions are written in a person-centred, strengths-based, and evidence-informed manner. * Ensure reports maintain professional, ethical, and non-judgemental language appropriate for multidisciplinary audiences, families, schools, and local authorities. * Cross-check consistency between assessment findings, interpretations, and recommendations. * Support compliance with relevant professional standards, including confidentiality, safeguarding considerations, and data protection requirements. * Maintain accuracy when reviewing psychological terminology, educational terminology, and statutory assessment language. * Liaise with the Educational Psychologist regarding amendments, clarifications, and final revisions where required. * Work efficiently to meet agreed report deadlines and service expectations. Essential Skills and Knowledge: * Excellent written English and proofreading skills. * Strong attention to detail and organisational skills. * Understanding of educational psychology terminology and report-writing conventions. * Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally. * Familiarity with EHCP processes, SEN terminology, and multidisciplinary reporting. * Ability to edit documents while preserving the author’s intended meaning and professional judgement. * Competence in formatting and presenting professional reports to a high standard. Desirable Experience: * Previous experience working within educational psychology, SEN services, education, healthcare, or related professional settings. * Experience proofreading statutory assessment reports or psychological documentation. * Knowledge of neurodevelopmental conditions, social-emotional needs, cognition and learning, communication needs, and sensory processing differences.
Pay: £27,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
