Duties

• Safely operate delivery vehicles, including driver or similar commercial lorries, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
• Plan and execute efficient delivery routes to ensure timely arrivals at designated locations
• Assist with loading and unloading goods, often involving heavy lifting to handle packages or equipment
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle maintenance logs
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding schedules or any issues encountered during routes
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure operational safety and report any maintenance needs promptly
• Follow company policies on health and safety procedures, including COVID-19 protocols where applicable

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role involving commercial driving and logistics operations
• Valid UK driver’s licence or equivalent certification recognised within the UK
• Experience working in warehouse environments or handling heavy lifting tasks is advantageous
• Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members
• Ability to manage time efficiently and adapt to changing schedules or route adjustments
• Good organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and route planning
• Physical fitness to perform heavy lifting tasks and long periods of driving or standing
