Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse and logistics operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing materials handling, process optimisation, and team coordination within a fast-paced environment. This role offers an opportunity to lead a dynamic team, improve operational efficiency, and ensure seamless shipping and receiving processes. The position requires strong organisational skills, mechanical knowledge, and proficiency with warehouse management systems.

Duties

• Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
• Oversee materials handling operations, ensuring safe and efficient movement of goods using equipment such as forklifts.
• Implement process improvements to optimise workflow, reduce costs, and enhance safety standards.
• Manage transfers to satellite sites via small fleet of road transport
• Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory levels, order processing, and reporting.
• Lead and manage warehouse staff, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations related to heavy lifting, mechanical maintenance, and equipment operation.
• Coordinate shipping & receiving activities to ensure timely dispatch of goods while maintaining accurate records.
• Maintain mechanical knowledge relevant to warehouse equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Oversee the utilisation of forklift trucks and other material handling equipment safely and effectively.

Requirements

• Proven experience in warehouse management or logistics operations.
• Strong understanding of materials handling procedures and process optimisation techniques.
• Proficiency with warehouse management systems
• Mechanical knowledge related to warehouse equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience operating forklifts or similar material handling machinery; forklift certification is preferred.
• Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a collaborative environment.
• Knowledge of heavy lifting safety protocols and health & safety regulations within warehousing environments.
• Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures, and inventory control practices.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail. This role is ideal for a proactive leader with strong organisational skills who is eager to optimise warehouse operations while ensuring safety standards are upheld at all times.

Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
