M&J Group, established in 1972, is a leading UK specialist construction company. Due to continued growth, we are expanding our roofing teams and are looking to recruit. Roofing Labourers to join our pitched roofing division working on projects across the UK.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to begin a hands‑on career in construction and roofing. No previous experience is required—just a strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist roofers on pitched roofing projects
- Support with material handling, site preparation, and general labouring duties
- Work safely at heights and follow all health and safety procedures
- Travel to sites across the UK as required (accommodation provided when working away)
- Contribute to a productive and professional team environment
What We Offer
- Day rate starting from £90, with opportunities to increase as you gain experience
- Weekly pay (one week in arrears)

What You’ll Need
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Confidence working at heights
- Flexibility to travel and stay away during the week
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Willingness to undergo a DBS check (arranged by the company)
Important Requirement
Please note that, due to the nature of the projects, you will be required to stay away from home Monday to Friday for periods of up to several weeks at a time. Accommodation will be provided.
