UCL’s Department of Computer Science (CS) is a top-ranked Computer Science Department in the UK. In the 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF) evaluation, UCL Computer Science was ranked second in the UK for research power and first in England. The post is based within UCL Computer Science and supports the MSc Systems Engineering for the Internet of Things at UCL East. The programme combines embedded systems, connected sensing, design thinking, and real-world engineering practice to prepare students for interdisciplinary IoT innovation.
This role supports the delivery of the MSc Systems Engineering for the Internet of Things at UCL East, with a particular focus on cybersecurity in embedded systems and IoT. The postholder will contribute to teaching and assessment on core modules, supervise MSc dissertations and projects, and support practical and interdisciplinary teaching in prototyping, sensor systems, and design-led engineering.
You will hold a PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, with expertise in IoT, embedded systems, and cybersecurity. You will have experience of teaching in higher education, supervising student projects, and supporting practical work involving edge devices, sensors, and prototyping, together with excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to high-quality, inclusive teaching.
