We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant to support our busy culinary team. This role is vital in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment, ensuring smooth daily operations. Duties

• Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards
• Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, such as peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients
• Supporting the cleaning of kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas to maintain a safe working environment
• Restocking supplies and ensuring all items are stored correctly and organised
• Assisting chefs and kitchen staff during busy service periods as needed
• Disposing of waste responsibly and ensuring recycling procedures are followed
• Helping with general organisational tasks to support smooth kitchen operations

Skills

• Previous experience in food preparation or kitchen environments is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and familiarity with restaurant or hotel settings is desirable
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
• A proactive attitude with attention to detail in cleanliness and hygiene standards
