Role overview
As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial strategy, governance, and performance of the business. The Finance Director will play a critical role in driving commercial decision-making, ensuring financial stability, and supporting sustainable growth across the organisation. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership capabilities and excellent financial expertise.
Salary: £100,000 – £125,000 per year
Key Responsibilities
· Lead and oversee all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cash flow management.
· Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with company objectives and long-term growth plans.
· Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior leadership and stakeholders.
· Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, statutory requirements, and accounting standards.
· Manage financial risk, internal controls, and audit processes effectively.
· Provide commercial insight and strategic recommendations to improve business performance and profitability.
· Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
· Oversee payroll, taxation, VAT returns, and company financial obligations.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with external auditors, banks, investors, and key stakeholders.
· Support mergers, acquisitions, investment activity, and business expansion initiatives where required.
· Drive process improvements and implement efficient financial systems and reporting tools.
· Collaborate with department heads to support operational and strategic decision-making.
Essential Experience and Qualifications
· Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior finance leadership role.
· Strong commercial and strategic financial management experience.
· Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing finance teams.
· Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
· Strong knowledge of UK financial regulations, tax compliance, and reporting standards.
· Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
· Experience managing budgets, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
· Highly motivated with a proactive and results-driven approach.
· Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
