As the public face of our properties, you’ll provide a warm, friendly welcome, give information about the property, answer questions and make sure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable visit.
Salary: £9,945.00 per annum, pro rata
Contract/duration: Permanent
Hours/working pattern: 15 hours per week. Working two days a week, including working every Saturday and one day in the week. Based at the Ashridge visitor centre with occasional work at the Dunstable Downs visitor centre. Our peak times are weekends, school holidays and bank holidays, so your working pattern will reflect this.
What it’s like to work here:Reporting to the Welcome and Service Assistant Manager, you’ll be part of a team of 4 Welcome and Service Assistance working at Ashridge Estate welcoming visitors and setting them up for their day. You’ll use your knowledge of Ashridge to engage with our visitors and look to exceed their expectations ensuring that they enjoy their visit with us. You’ll be aiding in our growing support effort for the National Trust promoting our fundraising and membership causes. You’ll also get involved in other presentation tasks on site, ensuring that Ashridge is clean, tidy and presentable.
The role involves working both inside and outside in all weathers from meeting and greeting in our visitor reception to opening up the Bridgewater Monument for our visitors to explore. Daily tasks vary from delivering exceptional customers service and selling National Trust membership, to inducting new volunteers to the team or going out for a littler pick.
What you’ll be doing:Day to day, you’ll deliver a great all-round customer service experience. You’ll be on hand answering queries and listen to what our visitors need so you can share the right information. Your role is to make sure our visitors have the best day they can. You’ll have the chance to be involved in different aspects of the visitor experience, from key property events to social media promotion – no two days are the same. Great visitor experiences are in our nature, and we believe everyone should feel welcomed, appreciated and more engaged because of the excellent service you provide. This role would suit anyone with enthusiasm for delivering great customer service.
