On-Street Operative – Voi Bikes Edinburgh Day shift
Part time: 16Hrs Week. 2 day shifts Sat/Sun

About Velogik

We’re responsible for keeping over 60,000 assets moving, including, the Velib Bike Share Scheme in Paris and Scotland’s largest bike share scheme in Glasgow. We are growing rapidly in France and the UK with a vision to be the largest micro mobility fleet management and maintenance company in Europe.
We are looking for a full time operative for our Edinburgh operation, to work on the Voi scheme.
What you’ll get up to as an On-Street Operative
You will be part of a team responsible for the distribution and upkeep (battery swapping) of the Voi scheme. You will strive to get bikes and their users on the move, measured against agreed KPI’s, ensuring we meet and exceed client expectations. To achieve this, you will shuttle bikes and batteries from our hub using our fleet of vans and distribute around the scheme, as well as perform battery swapping and other light maintenance.
You will be a conscientious, hard-working, and dedicated individual who appreciates quality and attention to detail, taking responsibility for your own workload but also work as part of a highly efficient team.
Whilst full training will be given, basic bike maintenance experience is a plus. We also look for those with a passion for everything cycling, together with the social, health and wellbeing and, environmental impact of it.
For the right people, there are also opportunities to grow in the company as well as work on exciting projects across the UK and France.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Carry out bicycle distribution from our hub, maintenance of on street assets and bicycle rebalancing
· Ensure all vehicles are maintained to a very high standard.
· Log repairs and maintenance of the vehicles on a smartphone via digital tools/platforms and service applications, keeping log of all work carried out on the vehicles.
· Ensure your vehicle, equipment and tools are maintained to a high standard.
· Adhere to all Health & Safety procedures and protocols.
· Reports directly to the Hub Manager.
· Present a professional image of Velogik at all times.
· Ensure all Velogik clients and business activities receive an excellent level of customer service.
· Assist with all other Velogik operations and activities as reasonably required to fulfil the needs of the business. This may include workshop and on street activities, distribution tasks, offsite maintenance, attending events and Dr Bike workshops.
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
· A basic knowledge of bicycle mechanics, even as a hobbyist.
· UK Driving Licence with van experience preferable
· Experience and adherence to Health & Safety procedures and protocols.
· Knowledge and/or experience of environmental and social impacts of a business.
· Good local knowledge of Edinburgh and surrounding area.
· A great personality and attitude to work!
