Overview
The Terminal Operations Lead is accountable for the safe, compliant, and customer-focused delivery of all front-of-house passenger handling operations within the terminal environments. The postholder provides direct line management to the check-in, security, and logistics teams, and acts as the senior operational presence in the terminals on a day-to-day basis.

The role is the primary interface between the organisation and offshore energy customers at an operational level and plays a central part in driving terminal performance, maintaining regulatory compliance, particularly in respect of aviation security, and embedding a culture of high performance and continuous improvement across the passenger-facing operation.

The Terminal Operations Lead deputises for the Ground Operations Manager from a front-of-house perspective and takes delegated responsibility as primary customer focal point.

Terminal Operations

• Leads day-to-day delivery of front-of-house passenger handling operations including check in, departure management and boarding ensuring compliance with all regulatory, company, industry and customer rules
• Accountable for terminal performance including on time performance, passenger processing times and housekeeping standards
• Act as the primary focal point for customers relating to terminal operations, managing communications and ensuring issues are tracked, investigated and closed out in a timely manner
• Ensure a high level of customer service delivery by maintaining strong passenger-facing standards, briefing staff on expectations and proactively coordinating during periods of disruption to resolve issues
• Attend monthly customer operations meetings and deputise for the Ground Operations Manager at quarterly performance meetings as required
• Ensure equipment is serviceable and maintain accurate records of defects and routine checks
• Monitor and report on terminal performance regularly, identifying trends, root cause of underperformance and ownership of corrective measures
• Conduct regular safety walks and inspections of the terminal environment ensuring any identified hazards are addressed promptly
• Support the Standards & Safety Lead with ownership of actions relating to terminal related occurrence reporting and audit findings/observations
• Lead investigations into terminal/passenger-based incidents
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, service delivery and regulatory compliance

Aviation Security Compliance

• Act as the operational lead for site security and responsible for site security performance at all company operational sites at Aberdeen Airport
• Oversight of screening and access activities ensuring processes are compliant with aviation security regulation and local requirements as set out by Aberdeen Airport
• Take ownership of reports relating to site security concerns
• Develop and lead security related exercises

Line Management & Development

• Allocation of resource to operational demands
• Management of the check in, security and logistics teams providing clear leadership, direction and support to foster a culture of high performance
• Conduct regular 1-2-1s with direct reports, team briefings and performance reviews
• Ensure key safety related communications are understood by all staff including reiteration of their personal responsibilities to report and act
• Ensure procedures are understood by all staff and provide coaching where appropriate
• Oversee the delivery of team training requirements in accordance with the Ground Operations Manual
• Identify individual and team developmental needs
• Lead recruitment activity for roles within area of functional responsibility
• Maintain oversight of operational documentation

General

• Active participation in monthly Ground Operations Safety Action Group meeting
• Emergency response responsibilities under the company CERP
• Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by Line Management within the timeframe specified, in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements, provided the instruction is reasonable and you are capable and deemed competent to fulfil these
