Summer Installations Assistant (Student / Temporary) job at Verulam Full Time

About the role

We’re a small, fast-growing family business specialising in landscape technology, and we’re hiring a Summer Installations Assistant to join our team for the summer. It’s a great opportunity for a university student to earn money, get outside, and pick up genuinely useful skills between semesters.

You’ll be working on a varied mix of installations – smart irrigation, landscape lighting, water features, green walls and more. The work is a real combination of physical, hands-on graft and technical activities: one moment you might be digging trenches or moving materials, the next you could be wiring up lighting, configuring a smart controller, or commissioning an irrigation system from an app.

No prior experience is needed – just enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and a good attitude.

What you’ll be doing

· Assisting with installations of irrigation, lighting, water features and other landscape technology systems

· Carrying out a mix of physical site work and technical setup

· Learning on the job from an experienced, friendly team

· Working outdoors at customer sites in all weather

· Helping out wherever needed – no two days are the same

What we’re looking for

· A current university student available for full-time work over the summer

· Someone who enjoys a mix of physical work and technical problem-solving

· Flexible, hands-on, and happy to muck in

· Comfortable working outside

· Positive attitude and keen to learn

· Reliable and a good team player

Nice to have (but not essential)

· A full UK driving licence

· Any prior experience with gardening, construction, electrical work, or smart-home tech
