What You Will Be Doing

At ITelegant, interns are not here to watch. You will be working on live systems, solving real problems, and seeing the results of your work reflected in how the business runs. Here is what that looks like day to day:

• Writing, tuning, and optimising SQL queries that feed business reporting, track operations, and surface insights that inform real decisions.
• Building and maintaining cloud infrastructure on AWS, working across services like RDS, S3, Lambda, and EC2 in a live production environment.
• Developing backend solutions in collaboration with teams across the business, translating operational needs into reliable, well-structured systems.
• Integrating platforms and services so that data moves cleanly across the organisation without gaps or bottlenecks.
• Investigating performance issues and shipping improvements, because slow and broken are not acceptable outcomes.
• Writing documentation that is actually useful, the kind that helps your teammates and your future self.

What We Are Looking For

Strong candidates come from all kinds of backgrounds. What matters to us is less about where you studied and more about how you approach problems. Here is the profile we have in mind:

• Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Confident working with SQL, writing complex queries, understanding joins, subqueries, and stored procedures should feel natural to you.
• Familiarity with AWS services or cloud infrastructure. Certifications are a bonus, but genuinehands-on curiosity matters far more.
• Backend programming experience in Python, Java, or a comparable language.
• A systematic approach to debugging and problem-solving. You dig into issues methodically and follow them through to a clean resolution.
• The ability to communicate clearly across teams, technical explanations to developers and plain-language summaries to everyone else.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel.
