Job Title: Section Engineer
Location: Bishopbriggs
Project Type: Civils
Company: Balfour Beatty Group
The Westerhill Development Road (WDR) is a major new transport infrastructure scheme forming the final phase of the Bishopbriggs Relief Road. The project will deliver a new 2km strategic development road, connecting Junction 2 of the M80 with the A803 (Kirkintilloch Road), significantly improving connectivity, reducing congestion, and unlocking long‑term economic growth across the Westerhill Regeneration Area.
Working on the Westerhill Development Road project gives candidates the opportunity to be part of a high‑profile, career‑enhancing infrastructure scheme delivered by Balfour Beatty from the ground up. Individuals will gain hands‑on experience across a diverse range of civil engineering disciplines, including highways construction, earthworks, drainage, environmental mitigation and active travel infrastructure, all within a live and technically complex project environment.
The scheme’s strong focus on sustainability, community impact and long‑term regional growth allows candidates to see the tangible results of their work, while benefiting from Balfour Beatty’s structured career development, strong safety culture and exposure to major City Deal investment. For professionals looking to build long‑term capability, credibility and progression within UK infrastructure, Westerhill offers both meaningful work and lasting professional value.
