Sales Assistant job at Oxford Full Time

The Crafters Emporium is a small local business owned by a mother and daughter. Started up in 2019, we have four shops spread throughout Oxfordshire. We ensure that we are welcoming and inclusive to both our staff and customers.

We are looking for two new temp staff members for the period between June-Sept in our Oxford shop, to help with the busy onset of tourist season. Ideally, a part time role of 14-16 hours with more hours available after training with covering holidays and the onset of tourist season. There is an opportunity to extend this role thereafter. You would work with a small team of 2-3 other staff members and would regularly engage with managers on performance and ways to increase shop sales.

Our shop is a community interest company where we support over 130 artisans/makers in and around Oxfordshire. We would love for someone ideally artistic and creative to join our small team. We would love to find someone who understands what our company does to support other small businesses. Within our shop, you will be involved heavily with the makers behind the products, see first hand the creative minds behind the organization and being able to implement your ideas and creativity directly to make the ideal shopping experience for customers.

We would like to find someone with prior retail experience, someone that has a high level of customer service and enhances customers shopping experience. We are also looking for someone that can display to a high standard and willing to learn at a high pace.

Hours are negotiable upon successful interview, we would ideally like someone who can do Saturdays or Sundays, both flexible hours can be discussed for other days. We are looking for individuals that can easily adapt to the role and that are fast learners in a high passed environment.

Hourly rate:

£13 over 20 from June 2026

£11.50 between 18 and 20
£10 under 18

Start date: end of May/June

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 14 – 16 per week
