Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofs on residential and commercial buildings. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, safety procedures, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities

• Install new roofing systems on various types of buildings, ensuring compliance with safety standards and building codes
• Repair and replace damaged or worn roofing materials, including shingles, tiles, metal sheets, and flat roof membranes
• Conduct inspections of roofs to identify issues and determine necessary repairs or replacements
• Prepare work sites by setting up scaffolding, ladders, and safety barriers
• Measure roof dimensions accurately to determine material requirements
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during installation and repair tasks
• Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters, plumbers, or electricians when necessary
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment at all times

Skills

• Proven experience in roofing, carpentry, or related construction trades
• Knowledge of construction painting, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical systems, fabrication, and other relevant skills is advantageous but not required
• Proficiency in using hand tools such as hammers, chisels, saws, and screwdrivers
• Ability to operate power tools including drills, nail guns, grinders, and cutting equipment
• Strong understanding of safety procedures in high-risk environments involving working at heights
• Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
• Physical stamina and strength to perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions
• Good communication skills for effective teamwork and client interactions
