Resident Support Manager (Scheme Manager)

Are you passionate about supporting older people to live independently and enjoy a high quality of life?
We are looking for a caring, organised and proactive Resident Support Manager to join a highly respected charitable organisation supporting residents aged 65+ across beautiful housing communities in Richmond.
The successful Resident Support Manager will play a key role in supporting resident wellbeing, fostering a strong sense of community and helping residents maintain their independence. Internally, this position is known as a Scheme Manager.
This opportunity would suit candidates with experience supporting elderly or vulnerable adults within care homes, domiciliary care, community support, supported living, welfare services or similar environments.
No housing experience is required.
What does the role involve?
As a Resident Support Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Building positive relationships with residents and their families
- Carrying out regular welfare and wellbeing checks
- Supporting residents to access appropriate services and external support
- Identifying safeguarding concerns and escalating where appropriate
- Encouraging social engagement and helping to reduce isolation
- Assisting residents with practical day-to-day queries
- Maintaining accurate records and resident information
- Working closely with colleagues to ensure residents receive the support they need
As a Scheme Manager, you will become a trusted and familiar presence within the community, helping residents to continue living independently whilst feeling safe, supported and connected.
About You
We would love to hear from candidates who have:
- Experience working with elderly or vulnerable adults
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- A caring, empathetic and patient approach
- Good organisational and administrative skills
- The ability to work independently and manage their own workload
- An understanding of safeguarding principles
A background as a Senior Care Assistant, Care Coordinator, Support Worker, Community Support Worker, Welfare Officer, Care Supervisor or similar would be highly relevant.
Additional Requirements
- Car owner/driver essential
- Able to travel across sites within the Richmond Borough
- Enhanced DBS check will be required
