As Programme Coordination Administrator, you will provide operational, administrative and coordination support to the Programme Coordination Team (PCT). The role focuses on supporting the organisation, follow up, and structured handling of data and information required for programme planning, coordination, and reporting activities. You will contribute to the smooth functioning of the PCT by ensuring that documentation, trackers, administrative tasks, and schedules are accurate, up to date, and properly maintained. The post does not involve responsibility for programme delivery, prioritisation, or decision making.
You will work within the Programme Coordination Team (PCT), a central team supporting the coordination of ECMWF programmes across business operating departments and corporate functions. The PCT works with a range of internal stakeholders, including technical teams and corporate services, to support planning cycles, resource coordination, and reporting activities. You will work under the supervision of the Head of PCT and provide day to day administrative support to the team.
We are looking for a reliable and well organised administrator with strong attention to detail and a structured approach to work. You are comfortable supporting coordination activities in a multi stakeholder environment and understand the importance of accurate information, timely follow up, and clear documentation. You work conscientiously within defined responsibilities and are able to support others effectively.
If you feel that you have the relevant profile and motivation to join us but don’t meet precisely all of the skills above, we still encourage you to apply.

The European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) is a world leader in Numerical Weather Predictions providing high-quality data for weather forecasts and environmental monitoring. As an intergovernmental organisation, we collaborate internationally to serve our members and the wider community with global weather predictions, data and training activities that are critical to contribute to safe and thriving societies.
The success of our activities depends on the funding and partnerships of the 35 Member and Co-operating States who provide the support and direction of our work. Our talented staff together with the international scientific community, and our powerful supercomputing capabilities, are the core of a 24/7 research and operational centre with a focus on medium and long-range predictions. We also hold one of the largest meteorological data archives in the world.
ECMWF has also developed a strong partnership with the European Union and has been entrusted with the implementation and operation of the Destination Earth Initiative and the Climate Change and Atmosphere Monitoring Services of the Copernicus Programme and the Strengthening Early Earning in Africa (SEWA) Programme. Other areas of work include High Performance Computing and the development of digital tools that enable ECMWF to extend provision of data and products covering weather, climate, air quality, fire and flood prediction and monitoring.
Our vision: The strength of a common goal
Our mission: Deliver global numerical weather predictions focusing on the medium-range and monitoring of the Earth system to and with our Member States
ECMWF is a multi-site organisation, with its headquarters in Reading, UK, a data centre in Bologna, Italy, and a large presence in Bonn, Germany, as a central location for our EU-related activities. ECMWF is internationally recognised as the voice of expertise in numerical weather predictions for forecasts and climate science.

The Destination Earth initiative of the European Commission builds Digital Twins of the Earth. ECMWF is responsible for developing the first two high-priority digital twins, on Weather-Induced Extremes and Climate Change Adaptation, as well as the Digital Twin Engine, enhancing the EU’s digital capabilities and supporting adaptation strategies to meet the challenges of climate change and extreme weather events. ECMWF is also responsible for AI activities including ML-driven Earth System Models.
Copernicus is the European Union’s (EU) flagship programme for monitoring Earth’s environment using satellite and in-situ observations. It delivers operational data and information services through six themed Copernicus Services. These deliver value-added products, tailored to more specific public or commercial needs. We are implementing the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) and the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S).
The Strengthening Early Warning in Africa (SEWA) Action was initiated in January 2025, with a four-year implementation period. ECMWF activities under SEWA will stimulate the use of ECMWF, Copernicus (the Earth observation component of the EU’s space programme), and other data generated by European stakeholders, with the aim of co-developing Impact-based Forecast (IbF) demonstration services and tools at a regional level in Sub-Saharan Africa, with African partners.
