Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Counter Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, supporting pharmacy operations, and assisting our team.. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a compassionate approach to patient care, and previous experience in pharmacy settings. Duties
- Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner at the pharmacy counter
- Assist customers with prescription collection, medication enquiries, and general queries
- Support pharmacy technicians with medication dispensing and stock organisation, checking in stocks and preparing medication for deliveries.
- Ensure accurate data entry of prescriptions into the pharmacy system
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pharmacy area
- Support medication administration processes under supervision, ensuring compliance with safety standards
- Assist in managing inventory levels and stock replenishment
- Follow all health and safety protocols, including confidentiality and data protection procedures
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a pharmacy assistant is essential.
- Knowledge of medication patient care principles
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism when interacting with patients
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team within a busy environment
- A recognised qualification or training in pharmacy support is advantageous but not essential
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including some weekends or evenings if required
