Part-Time Delivery Driver (Commercial Laundry) job at Glasgow Full Time

Overview
Harveys Laundry are looking for 2 part-time delivery drivers to join their busy team based near Ibrox in Glasgow.

The job involves delivering and collecting laundry hampers/cages to hotels and hospitality venues across Central Scotland.

Routes cover: Glasgow, Edinburgh, Ayrshire, Lanarkshire, Loch Lomond, Stirling, Helensburgh & Inveraray.

We have a fleet of Mercedes/Ford vans (up to 3.5 tons).

Shift times start between 6am-7am and end by 3pm.

Your route may cover multiple areas and may involve completing deliveries in one area, returning to the depot and making further deliveries to another area, depending on the customer’s daily requirements.

Routes are not fixed and changes may be made at short notice due to changes in the customer’s demands.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles, to deliver laundry items to various commercial clients.
• Carry out basic van health checks and report any faults to the office immediately for repair.
• Load and unload laundry deliveries, requiring heavy lifting and manual handling. Some routes could deliver around 100 bags and collect the same quantity.
• Ensure all deliveries are completed within scheduled timeframes
• Ensure no deliveries are mixed up, or given to the wrong customer
• Ensure you label all collected bags with the customer name for easy identification
• Maintain accurate delivery and collection documentation
• Communicate effectively and regularly with the office regarding delivery progress or any unforeseen issues, in line with company procedure
• Uphold friendly, polite and professional conduct when interacting with clients during drop-offs and collections.

Skills

• Proven experience as a delivery driver.
• Experience of driving a van either in the UK or overseas
• Valid Driving Licence- UK Licence preferred
• Experience of heavy lifting/a demanding physical role
• Able to organise and keep customers orders separate and accurate
• Good communication and people skills

Pay: £13.15 per hour
