Job Overview

Cec Minicabs / Clayhall Executive Cars Ltd is looking for reliable Owner-Drivers with a valid TfL PCO badge to carry out regular school runs across London and surrounding areas.

This role is for drivers using their own licensed private hire vehicle. You will be transporting pupils safely to and from school on regular morning and afternoon routes.

This is not casual minicab work. School transport requires punctuality, patience, professionalism and consistency. Once a driver accepts a route, they are expected to attend every school day unless absence has been authorised in advance.

Potential earnings are £350 to £1,000 per week, depending on the route, area, mileage, vehicle type and driver availability.

Working Hours

Typical school run times are:

Morning: approximately 7:00am to 9:00am
Afternoon: approximately 2:00pm to 4:00pm
Days: Monday to Friday, school term time

Drivers must be available for both morning and afternoon school runs.

Additional daytime work may be available, including local bookings, airport transfers, account work, wheelchair-accessible work and other transport jobs, but this is not guaranteed.

Responsibilities

Your duties will include:

Safely transporting pupils to and from school on scheduled routes
Arriving on time every morning and afternoon
Following route instructions and office updates
Communicating clearly with the office regarding delays, no-shows or route issues
Maintaining a professional attitude with pupils, parents, schools and coordinators
Working with passenger assistants where required
Keeping your vehicle clean, safe and legally compliant
Using the driver app / dispatch system correctly
Reporting safeguarding, behaviour or welfare concerns immediately
Following all road safety, TfL and company requirements

Requirements

You must have:

Valid TfL Private Hire Driver Licence / PCO badge
Your own private hire licensed vehicle
Valid UK driving licence
Valid hire and reward insurance
Valid MOT and vehicle documents
Right to work in the UK
Good communication skills
Reliable Monday to Friday availability
Professional attitude when transporting children and vulnerable passengers
Ability to follow instructions and use a mobile driver app

Preferred Experience

Previous school run experience
SEND transport experience
Council transport experience
Wheelchair-accessible vehicle experience
MPV / 7-seater vehicle
Safeguarding training
MiDAS, PATS or passenger assistance training
Experience using dispatch or driver apps

Training and guidance may be provided for suitable drivers, but reliability and professionalism are essential from day one.

This is not a guaranteed fixed weekly amount. Strong, reliable drivers with suitable vehicles and good availability are more likely to receive better routes and additional work.
