cer Financial is partnering with an international bank based in the West End to recruit an experienced Operations Manager on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing banking operations, driving process improvements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading a high-performing operations team.

The responsibilities of the Operations Manager will include:

1. Oversee domestic and international payment processing
2. Ensure payments are authorised and released in line with policies and controls
3. Improve operational processes, controls, and efficiency
4. Maintain compliance with AML/KYC, regulatory requirements, and operational standards
5. Lead, mentor, and develop the operations team
6. Support audits, business continuity, and operational resilience initiatives
7. Manage operational risk, reporting, and supplier relationships
8. Support system upgrades, automation projects, and process enhancements
9. Work closely with department heads and support the COO with operational planning

The candidate will have:

1. Degree educated or equivalent banking/financial services experience
2. Minimum 5 years’ experience within banking operations
3. Strong knowledge of payments processing, including SWIFT, BACS, and Direct Debits
4. Experience working within regulated banking environments
5. Understanding of AML, sanctions, PSRs, and financial crime controls
6. Proven team management experience within a fast-paced operational setting
7. Familiarity with the Equation Banking System is advantageous
8. Knowledge of private banking, treasury, risk, compliance, and vendor management preferred
