About Ganes Academy
Ganes Academy is a premium STEM tutoring practice in North London, founded by Dr Lavan Ganeshkumar (PhD, UCL). We support students through GCSE, A-Level, IB, and UK university admissions – Oxbridge, medical school, Imperial. Most of our students are taking maths, further maths, chemistry, biology, or physics.
We are at an interesting point in our growth. After years of one-to-one tutoring, we’re moving towards a group-led model – smaller group sessions of up to 4 students each, running across the week. The teaching quality remains genuinely individual; the structure becomes more sustainable and more accessible to families. We have launched our first set of group sessions and they are working. Now we want to grow them properly.
That’s where this role comes in.
About the role
This is a hybrid role. Half of it is what most people would recognise as operations – making sure the schedule runs, rooms are booked, families are looked after, invoices go out, the business hums along behind the scenes. The other half includes growth work – converting enquiries into signed students, filling our existing group sessions, and helping us launch new ones over the next 12 months.
The role exists because we want to do this transition properly. Filling group sessions takes deliberate effort: thoughtful conversations with prospective families, smart scheduling, careful matching of students to the right groups, follow-through on every inquiry. The founder is also our lead tutor – he can’t do all of this alone, and the next phase of the business depends on getting it right.
You will work directly with the founder, manage the day-to-day rhythm of the practice, and play a meaningful part in shaping how Ganes Academy grows over the next 1 – 2 years. This is not a back-office admin role. The role will be visible to families, trusted with judgement calls, and central to the business growing the way we want it to.
The role starts at 20 hours/week.
