Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Van Driver to join our delivery team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting and delivering potatoes into fish and chip shops across Glasgow and the surrounding areas. This role requires a level of fitness as it involves delivering 25kg bags of potatoes. The job is Monday to Friday with a starting time of around 7 or 8 am.
Duties
- Safely operate van to deliver goods to designated locations in a timely manner
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Unload cargo, ensuring securement of all items during transit
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with office
- Adhere to all traffic laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies during operations
- Report any vehicle issues or accidents promptly to management
- Full training will be given
Qualifications
- Valid current driving licence
- Strong understanding of driving regulations and safety procedures within the UK
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage time effectively
- Good physical fitness to handle unloading potatoes
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times
